For example, if a study is presented from pm to pm, as part of a session that ends at pm, the embargo on that study lifts at pm. Embargoes on poster presentations lift at the conclusion of the session in which the poster is presented.
If a study to be presented at CROI is included in an official CROI press conference and that press conference takes place before the official presentation of the study at the conference, the embargo lifts at the conclusion of the press conference in which that study is featured.
Social Media CROI embargo policies apply to any public dissemination of research information presented at the conference, including through electronic publication eg.

See you at the Center! Bowes, Jr. Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr. Derheim David C. They depict landmark events in jazz history and a fictionalized cityscape made up of influential and important jazz venues from across the United States and San Francisco.
Sherman Greg Stern Jon B. Streeter Donald W. His debut recording as a leader, Voyager, Live by Night, was released in , and his latest album with Voyager, Vipassana, was released this year.
This four-night residency presents a wide range of his stimulating music. As a bandleader, a dogged promoter of Hindustani and South Indian Carnatic traditions, a Bollywood and Hollywood film composer, and a pioneer of world music and Indo-jazz fusion, he has blazed a mindboggling array of musical trails.
A savvy bandleader, celebrated film composer, brilliant jazz writer and influential educator, the GRAMMYwinning New Orleans native is a creative force who sits at the apex of the contemporary jazz scene.
But it is as a bandleader that she has truly made her mark, releasing a string of albums including the blockbusters Chamber Music Society and Radio Music Society.
The first stand-alone structure in the country built specifically for jazz, the SFJAZZ Center was designed by awardwinning San Francisco architect Mark Cavagnero, who worked with acoustician 14 Sam Berkow and theater designer Len Auerbach to create a main performance space with the acoustic quality of a great concert hall and the relaxed intimacy of a jazz club.
Miner Auditorium, a flexible, scalable venue that seats up to people in close proximity to the musicians with superb sightlines and pristine acoustics tailored for jazz performance.
Students of all ages use the Joe Henderson Lab as well as the practice rooms and cutting edge digital lab for workshops, rehearsals, master classes and private instruction.
A creative force on the San Francisco jazz scene for the past decade, Shulman is a probing improviser and arranger deeply versed in the jazz tradition.
The San Francisco native studied music at UC Santa Cruz and soaked up bandstand wisdom from the late, beloved piano master Smith Dobson before establishing his career as a first-call pianist and emerging bandleader.
Following his first two GRAMMY-nominated albums, his sensational debut Water and follow-up Be Good, Porter made his Blue Note debut with the celebrated Liquid Spirit, his finest collection of songs and an album marked by his supple phrasing, sophisticated lyrics and tough but tender delivery.
Porter brings the same soulstirring authority to jazz settings, revealing powerful truths with heart and grace.
An enormous presence whose music has helped shape the evolution of jazz since the early s, Tyner has written more than a dozen bona fide jazz standards and released dozens of enduringly vital albums.
The TEJ Trio provides both players with a larger sonic palette than usual, with Eigsti doubling on keyboards and Lage adding an array of effects to his warm guitar tone.
The TEJ Trio is a step into the unknown, a vehicle for searching out unheard textures, extended forms and mysterious harmonies.
Led by bassist and composer Michael League, the Brooklyn-based band grew out of the celebrated jazz program at the University of North Texas.
More than a consummate sideman, Harland is the rhythmic catalyst for many of the definitive jazz recordings of the past 15 years, a groove muse whose tidal-force trap work has inspired Greg Osby, Terence Blanchard, Charles Lloyd, McCoy Tyner, Dave Holland, and many other masters.
His debut as a leader, Voyager: Live By Night, is a quintet session gleaned from a series of live performances, and the recently released Vipassana features a new set of revelatory originals.
In his role as an SFJAZZ Resident Artistic Director, Harland wanted to bring together his passions for music, sports and gaming, and this show presents a unique opportunity for fans of all three to come together as the musicians accompany and react to the action projected on the Miner Auditorium screen.
One of the greatest drummers on the national scene and a huge sports fan, Harland has recently released his second album with the Voyager project, Vipassana.
The pair celebrates the release of their new album. Join us for the return of this Bay Area singing treasure. She won a Guggenheim Fellowship Award in , making her the first singer-songwriter to ever receive the prestigious grant.
A savvy bandleader who has honed a tight, telegraphic style with her quartet, Barber is known for transforming unlikely pop tunes into sleek jazz numbers, reinventing Cole Porter, and constantly reworking her impressive book of originals.
A musical prodigy championed by legendary drumming figures Buddy Rich and Jack DeJohnette, Carrington has worked with a staggering list of jazz greats including lengthy tenures with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, and has been collaborating with Esperanza Spalding in her band as well as the virtuoso ACS Trio with Spalding and pianist Geri Allen.
The stylistic breadth of her work shows a love for the Great American Songbook, the Brazilian pop of Ivan Lins and the hits of Paul Simon, Judy Collins, and others, so a celebration of the multi-faceted Garland is a match made in heaven.
This concert is a rare and welcome return for an artist whose enormous impact continues to reverberate through the jazz world. Regrouping last year for their first album since , Paris Combo recently released 5, a session with all surreal humor, showmanship, and irresistible bounce that have come to define this entrancing quintet.
It seems inevitable that Elling would turn his attention to Sinatra. He makes it contemporary. Since his first release 50 years ago with the Rising Sons, which he founded with Ry Cooder, Taj has been a cultural force, bringing blues culture to new generations.
Equal parts preservationist and visionary, Taj wields his expressive growl of a voice to conjure an era when social gatherings without live music were simply unthinkable.
Less than 1 hour to San Francisco. Pent-family room, decks and views. Yard, 2 car parking. Goodman, Lisa G. Miller Landscaped garden plus cottage, parking.
Callum Hutchins T: Visit onlywithus. Organ star Wil Blades assembles a fire-breathing trio to revisit Emergency!
An artist possessed of a transcendent instrument and an ability to seamlessly integrate influences from around the globe, Ahluwalia has made a specialty of interpreting ghazals, the sensual Indian poetry of unrequited love and passion for life that have been beloved throughout South Asia and the Islamic world since the 10th century.
The musically omnivorous singer has made a career of expanding the Indian vocal tradition beyond musical and geographic borders.
Things have changed. But not enough, she says. The jazz paradigm is a little behind the times in terms of gender equality.
And Jane Monheit celebrates the music of Judy Garland on the 15th. Marie showed herself to be a worthy successor to Kitt.
For their spring concert, the All-Stars celebrate the extraordinary contributions of women composers, arrangers and instrumentalists, highlighting works by Mary Lou Williams, Melba Liston, Maria Schneider and others in addition to original compositions by band members.
We are honored to feature two remarkable guest soloists for this matinee performance: Melissa Aldana and Angela Wellman.
Potter has shared the studio and bandstand with a staggering list of major artists, releasing his star-studded debut at the age of Over the years, he has moved deftly from acoustic post-bop to the fringes of experimentalism, and formed the funk-fueled Underground in with guitarist Wayne Krantz, keyboardist Craig Taborn and drummer Nate Smith.
He returns now to the Underground, giving the music an exciting new dimension. Iyer has collaborated with the most creative figures in modern jazz and has recorded 15 albums since his debut in , including the acclaimed sessions Historicity and Accelerando featuring his telepathic trio of bassist Stephan Crump and drummer Marcus Gilmore.
The band is preparing to release their new album on ECM Records. If you wonder what the cutting edge of jazz is, wonder no more.
The future is now. He earned a vast international following in the mids through his work for ECM. Even at his most abstract he infuses each note with tenderness and sorrow, a master storyteller who never gets lost in his tale.
